If you live in Wilmington, Delaware and have a dog, we can help get you on the right track with some training. Whether your dog pulls on the leash or does not come when called, we can guide you to a better life with your dog! We’ve got years of experience working with countless of different dog breeds, so we know exactly how to help. Every dog is different, so no 2 training programs should be exactly the same. While we do have a standard curriculum, we make sure every dog gets trained in a way that works best for them. Let us guide you to a better life with your dog!
Private Lesson Programs in Wilmington
Here at Delaware K9 Academy, we have a variety of different training programs to help get you on the right track. Our Standard Lesson program consists of 4 private lessons, with each lesson lasting roughly an hour. During these lessons, we’ll introduce training tools, introduce a new command, and you’ll get plenty of practice working with your dog. The goal of these private lessons is to make sure you know exactly what to practice each day between our lessons.
We typically recommend that owners spend at least 20-30 minutes a day practicing what we worked on during the private lesson. Each week we will add more and more, so it’s important to keep up with the training to make sure you are staying on track. After the 4-lesson program, you’ll have significantly greater communication with stricter structure and boundaries for your dog to be successful. If you need additional help, of course we can add on more lessons!
What Is Doggie Boot Camp?
Our most popular 2-week Board and Train program, also referenced as Boot Camp, is our most immersive training experience. A Delaware K9 Academy trainer will take your pup for 14 days and conduct all the training for you. We’ll be sure to send you updates including pictures and videos every day, so you can feel included in the training process! We’ll let you know what we are working on and what your dog is struggling with for full transparency! We know that giving your dog up for 2 weeks can be challenging, so we try to make it as easy as possible.
Upon the completion of training, we’ll meet for a few hours to teach you how to maintain everything we have taught. Your dog will keep their same goofy, loving personality with just better responsiveness and more neutrality. Your dog will not come home like a robot, so it’s important to learn how to maintain what we teach. You will need to continue on with the training, however, it’s significantly easier when you do not have to teach them anything new. Let us help make your life easier with our 2-week Boot Camp program! To see some Before & After Videos, check out our Youtube Channel!
Why Choose Delaware K9 Academy
We understand that you have several options here in Delaware for dog training. Sometimes, choosing the right trainer can be difficult when there are too many options. So let us help make things a little easier for you and explain why you should choose us to work with you!
– We’re A Private, Locally Owned Company
We aren’t a franchise, we aren’t a big chain, and we aren’t a big “box store” offering training. These options can sometimes be square and routine, meaning no customization. They have a strict, specific curriculum with a “one-size-fits-all” approach to dog training. This process of training can be dangerous, leading to sub-standard results for your dog. Let us work with you to create a unique, specific training program for you and your dog to make sure you get the results you’re looking for.
– Transparency & Honesty
We pride ourselves on being open, transparent, and honest. We want to do the absolute best we can with you and your dog, and we strive to set clear expectations. We never want to lead our clients astray, so we make sure all of our expectations are as clear as possible. We understand that some of the bigger national franchises might use bait and switch tactics and post misleading videos, but you won’t find any of that here at Delaware K9 Academy!
– Proven Results & Reputation
We work extremely hard to build the reputation we have today. We fully respect our clients’ time and the money they invest in us and make sure it does not go to waste. We strive to deliver a 5-star service to each and every client that walks through our doors. When issues arise or clients are struggling with their dog, we’ll do everything we can to get you back on track. Put your trust in us to help you achieve your goals and wishes with your dog. We are proud to call so many of our past clients our friends now.
Are You Ready?
If your dog jumps on the counters, barks at people walking outside past the window, or pulls on the leash, let us give you a hand. Dog training can be extremely challenging because of so many different variables. What has worked in the past with your previous dogs may not work for your current dog. If you need a hand, let us get you on the right track! We have the experience needed to help you get the results you’re looking for.
